DESCRIPTION:Prerequisite: Any Discovery Class\, the Forge Safety Workshop and Adam’s Forge Membership  \nPlease note: Beginning on January 1\, 2024\, all attendees of Open Forge sessions must have successfully passed the Forge Safety class\, which is free to members and available for sign-up on the class calendar. If you wish to use the power hammers\, you must have successfully passed the Power Hammer Safety class. \nNot a class\, but a swell time to get in the forge to do what you wanna do. You can bring your own material and work on your own project. This can be a chance to finish that piece you started or work out a technique you’ve been meaning to try. One of our intrepid instructors will be on hand for supervision and guidance\, although these are not teaching workshops. \nPlease note: these sessions are intended to support our students as they practice skills that are within their ability range.  Please do not use our forge and tools to experiment with new techniques that are beyond your skill level.  When in doubt\, ask the instructor. \nAs with all of our workshops\, we require that students attending Open Forge sessions be at least 12 years old. A student who is not an adult (18 and older) will need to have a parent or guardian present at ALL times during the session. Find a partner and sign up.  This will be 1 big division with Gross and Net places.  Player points will be split between the teammates for Gross and Net places. \n  \nFormat: Shamble – Alternate shot. In this format both player tee off and you choose the better shot.  From that point on it is alternate shot.  If you choose Player 1’s tee shot then Player 2 will hit next shot then Player 1\, etc until ball is holed. All 18 holes will be played this way. \nBuy-Ins: \n$170 Team Deposit.  When you sign up 1 person CAN pay for both players deposit or you can pay individually ($85 each). \n$40 Team Tournament Fee.  CASH only day of event. \n$10 Team Skins Game (optional)  Gross and Net .  Cash Only day of event \n$10 Team ‘Beat the Pro’ (optional). Cash Only day of event \nThere will be CTPs on ALL the par 3’s \nThere will also be a Putting Contest after the round.  This is included in your Tournament Fee! \nTeam Handicap will be determined by taking the average of the two players handicaps minus 20% \n  \nStarting in 2023 all tournaments will have a Triple Bogey Max per hole policy.  This is Gross strokes not Net.  We will also be more active with a Tournament Marshall who will be assessing penalty strokes for each member of a group who is playing slow.  A group will get an initial warning to speed up play but if they do not pick up the pace after that they will be penalized 1 stroke per person.  This is meant to speed play up so we can still have fun while not slowing the course down. \n  \n80 Player / 40 Team Max \n9am starting tee times.  \nTee Boxes: All Men playing from the Silvers\, Women from the Bronze.

Event will take place on Sunday\, October 13\, 2024 at 7 am (Half Marathon)\, 8:15 am (5K/10K) and 9:30 am (Kids’ Run). \nFunds raised from this event will benefit the Free Clinic of Simi Valley’s Counseling Programs. Everyday\, the Free Clinic is saving lives\, improving the health of the community\, and reducing health care costs for residents of Simi Valley. Both your vehicle and merchandise must fit within the boundary of your space (2 standard parking spaces). Oversized vehicles\, trailers\, etc. are not permitted. For pedestrian safety\, once your vehicle is in your designated space\, it must remain there through the duration of the event. Vendors will be placed upon arrival that morning.
