Participants will learn how to gain job skills and show initiative as an employee through free LinkedIn Learning courses and certificate programs available for Library card holders.  Participants will also learn important soft skills\, including workplace communication etiquette. \nReserving a seat is recommended as seating is limited. DESCRIPTION:Its Vegas in Simi Baby!  This is another fun tournament with a few side Vegas games to keep the day more interesting.  Are you ready to gamble? \nFormat:  Regular stroke play within your divisions.  We will have some games that are on the side for fun and some that might help your score a little too. \nVegas Games for the Tournament (and unlike Vegas these are all free with your tournament buy in!): \nBest Poker Hand – This will be included with your buy in instead of CTP and Long Drive.  For this game you get cards for scores on the holes.  Best 5 card poker hand wins! Second Best hand will apply for the pot as well.  Each Division will have their own pot.  Net Par = 1 card\, Net Birdie = 2 cards\, Net Eagle = 3 cards.  Any Gross scores for these will also get an additional card (ex: Gross Par = 2 cards etc.)  I will have 2 decks total so dont worry about me running out.  I will also have a rankings list on the day of tournament since with two decks 5 of kind is possible. Each person gets to pick their own number of cards and have their own 5 card hand. \nBlackJack – Edgar will be on #10 tee box to let you try your luck against the house.  You lose\, move back a tee box for your tee shot on that hole.  Win\, move up a tee box…Blackjack?! Move up 2 tee boxes!!  Push? You’ve worked on your hammer control and perhaps practiced forging blades yourself. Now sign up for the ultimate culmination of the two. This is your chance to learn from Ben himself and forge your own Malay Parang Chopper under his tutelage. \nThis small machete from Malaysia is an indispensable tool for yard work\, bushcraft and camping applications.  Big enough to chop and clear brush but lean enough to slice and cut food.  Over the course of two days\, we will forge and grind the blade\, and attach the full-tang handle\, working closely with Ben. Go home with your new tool\, new knowledge and experience that will raise your work to a new level.

DESCRIPTION:Simi Valley Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills\, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth. \n  \n  \nVisiting for the First Time? \nVisiting a club is an exciting first step in reaching your goals. There’s no need to feel pressure to participate at your first club meeting – you can simply observe if you wish. And since every club is unique\, it’s OK to visit several clubs before you decide to join the right club for you. Have a great first meeting! \nHow Do I Join? \nJoining is as easy as 1-2-3! \nStep 1: \nVisit the Toastmasters club \n\nYou may wish to visit more than once.  Visits are free and you may return as often as you like.\nIt’s a good idea to call or email in advance to confirm a group’s meeting time and location.\n\nStep 2: \nAt the meeting\, ask the President or the vice president membership for a membership application and fill it out.   New membership application can be found under the New Membership Application or on the Free downloads tabs. \nStep 3: \n\nGive your application and dues to the President or to the vice president membership at the club.\nOnce you are voted in by the existing membership\, the club officer will send your application and fees to Toastmasters’ World Headquarters.\nYour New Member Kit should arrive in the mail in about two weeks (kits outside of the U.S. may take longer).\n\nIt’s as easy as that! \nCome and see what Simi Valley Toastmasters is up to in the next few months! \nMeets every Thursday\, 7:15pm
